If so, you may find yourself asking “where do I start?”  The Divorce Options Workshops are designed with that starting place in mind. The more educated you are with the facts, the less stressful, costly and time-consuming the entire process will be.

What You Need to Know About Divorce

This free, public education workshop is open to Minnesota individuals and couples, whether married, domestic partners or cohabiting, same or opposite gender, with or without children. Workshops are presented by professionals who have guided other people through divorce: Lawyers, Financial Specialists, Divorce Coaches, and Child and Family Specialists.

Receive up-to-date, unbiased information about:

• Spousal support, alimony and child support
• Marital and non-marital property
• Tax consequences of divorce
• Legal and physical custody, parenting  time
• Impact of separation/divorce on children

Learn the advantages and disadvantages of:

• Self-representation (“Do-it-yourself”)
• Mediation
• Collaborative Practice
• Traditional Court-Based

Get advice from professionals on how to:

• Talk to your children about divorce
• Identify what is important to you in the divorce
• Preserve healthy family relationships
• Maintain your emotional health and reduce stress
• Work together versus being at odds
• Maintain control of your divorce process
